Annual Bee Health Day

In conjunction with the Animal and Plant Health Agency, Regional Bee Inspector Team, Sleaford District is running a Bee Health Day, on Saturday June 11th from 09:30 to approx 16:30.

This full day event will cover common and less common bee diseases and the threat of the Asian hornet in the presentations. There will be demonstrations of frames with foulbrood, which happily most of us have never seen other than in this type of environment so it’s a really useful opportunity to see foulbrood “in the flesh” as it were.

The presentations will take place at Cranwell Village Hall, Old School Lane, Cranwell Village, Sleaford NG34 8DF. And the practical sessions will be held at the Sleaford Apiary about 1 mile away.

Tea, coffee and light refreshments will be provided but delegates will need to bring a packed lunch. In order to cover costs a nominal charge of £10 per person is being made.

If you wish to attend this useful and interesting day please let me know as soon as possible scastleman@nullbtinternet.com wherein further details and joining instructions will be provided.

Many thanks – Simon Castleman
